Storytelling. How important is it in your everyday life? How about for your Etsy business or hobby? Does the concept of storytelling matter at all to you when it comes to trying to sell your wares on Etsy.
To Whom It May Concern:
Dear Etsy seller,
I’m looking for something unique this Christmas (or Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa, or Festivus) season so I’m checking out what you’ve made because I want to give gifts this year that don’t come from a crowded mall.
I want the gifts I give to say something special to my mom, my dad, my husband, my wife, my child, my nanna and poppy, and of course my sissies and brother.
I want the gifts to speak to them immediately they meet. I want their first encounter to be the beginning of a long and meaningful relationship between them. I want them to believe you made this gift for them and just them. Can you break the mold after you’re done…?
Now I already know the people I am shopping for, I want to get to know the gifts that I am buying for them. Tell me the story. How did it come to be? What was the inspiration behind it? What was your vision for it in your minds eye and did the creation that was birthed from that meet or exceed what you had conceived it would be?
Who were you making it for and for what purpose? Who did you hope would receive it in the end? Besides the “materials used” what went into bringing this gift to life?
Are you happy with it? Are you ready to part with it?
So how will you tweak your Etsy product descriptions?
