Question:
Your podcast guest is an Etsy newbie, why should I listen to him or her on your show?
Answer:
I’m glad someone actually asked this question because I know that there might be a misconception that the Etsy Conversations Podcast is only about Etsy sellers who have made it big and are wildly successful.
But that’s just not true.
I understand why this might be though, because many small business and entrepreneur-type podcasts focus on the success stories… The people who started from nothing and now are making good or decent money and have ditched their day jobs (or night jobs) because their businesses have taken off.
Well, that is not the goal or the focus of the Etsy Conversations Podcast.
I’m not sure if you’ve noticed the tagline of this website, (scroll up to the top now and take a quick look at it). It says:
Featuring inspiring interviews with Etsy (and some non-Etsy) shop owners
The podcast is not solely about Etsy success stories (although there are quite a number of them featured!) or how others have “made it big on Etsy and how you can too!”… It is about Etsy sellers sharing the stories of their Etsy journey and Etsy business with other actual or aspiring Etsy sellers or creative business owners.
These are stories that others can draw inspiration from to help them along in their own journey. Their stories are informational, educational, often times even whimsical… 🙂
Some guests are veteran sellers with lots of sales and commercial success on and off of Etsy while some others are not.
The common thread however, is that each one has a unique story of the triumphs and challenges they’ve experienced while trying to sell on Etsy and build a business on Etsy.
And… they are willing to put themselves out there and share it openly.
Almost any Etsy seller who is willing to be open enough to share his or her story with me and the people who listen to the podcast, is more than welcome by me to come on the podcast and do so.
I am of the firm belief that as much as Etsy newbies can learn from veteran Etsy sellers, veteran sellers can also find something of value to learn from newbies on Etsy.
So at the end of the day, this isn’t a “how to quit your day job” podcast. I view it as an inspirational podcast to encourage you in your Etsy journey and spur you on to keep it moving in your Etsy and creative business endeavors.
