Maine-ly Fish Prints Etsy Shop Giveaway

February 25, 2015

mainely fish prints, etsy shop, lobster ropeThis giveaway is sponsored by the etsy shop Maine-ly Fish Prints. Enter to win one set of coasters and a “Sea & Fetch” dog toy both made from 100% recycled/reclaimed float rope from Maine lobstermen!

But first, here’s more information about the sponsors of this giveaway.

About Maine-ly Fish Prints

Maine-ly Fish Prints features an array of underwater imprints and lobster rope products that capture the sea creatures that have made Maine’s rocky coastline their home. Prints are imprinted on card card stock and they capture rare and memorable glimpses of the hidden beauty abounding the ocean floor.

All products are handmade and all their lobster rope products are made from 100% genuine recycled/reclaimed float-rope from the Maine coast.

This is the rope which is used by the lobstermen to tether their buoys to lobster traps on the bottom of the ocean floor. Heavier sink-rope is safer for marine animals and in recent years any Maine fishermen have switched to using this instead.

A large part of their thinking revolves around creating quality products that truly recycle and repurpose!

For instance the Sea and Fetch dog toy you’ll be entering to win is handmade from 100% reclaimed/recycled lobster float rope along with reclaimed dead tennis balls from tennis facilities that no longer serve a purpose for those playing tennis.mainely fish prints, etsy shop, lobster rope

Who’s Behind Maine-ly Fish Prints

Well, that would be Liz!

The business was started out of a garage with the goal of creating a sustainable product line that combined a passion for the beauty and bounty the Atlantic Ocean provides.

Maine is of course known for lobster and she wanted to highlight that the gear used by lobstermen could be reclaimed and reused to make beautiful products for your home and your pets!

How & Why Did She End Up in Etsy?

Liz’s brother who works in the retail business suggested opening up an Etsy online store to reach a much larger audience beyond the seasonal retail locations that she already worked with in New England. Aren’t caring siblings great…?

The Inspiration Behind the Product Line

Preserving Maine’s rocky coastline has been the inspiration behind her “Artwork from the Ocean”.

Each lobster rope product is an example of Maine’s longstanding lobstering history while preserving the beauty of Maine’s waters

Note: for this giveaway, color requests cannot be made 🙂
