Have you ever paid close attention to the message that your clothing is sending…? Maybe yes, maybe no? Well, today’s Etsy Shop ShoutOut goes to Greater Than Tees and it’s a relatively new Etsy shop (Yay…! I love giving new Etsy shops shoutouts! 🙂 ) that sells T-shirts with positive and uplifting messages.
This Etsy shop is run by Nicole and she personally designs and hand-presses the T-shirts she sells. Nicole also sells her own line of handmade organic soaps.
Remember this symbol “>”? It means “Greater Than” and it’s the inspiration behind this Etsy shop.
The T-shirts were borne out of a personal desire to wear a message that she believed in and the messages on all the Greater Than Tees T-shirts are designed to demonstrate that positivity is > negativity.
Nicole says the thoughts expressed on her T-shirts are genuine and new; they provide a refreshing source of inspiration right now since there are so few inspirational message tees.
Wondering if these shirts are your style? Well… Do you like simple and clean cut… Soft textured clothing that fits perfectly? Then the answer would be yes, because that’s how Nicole describes them.
The goal was to make them pretty much anyone’s style – street style or gym style…whatever your own style is.
The same philosophy applies to the soaps she carries. They are > store bought soap.
They are handmade by Nicole in her kitchen using only the purest, organic materials on the market. In her own words, she says:
The goat’s milk and essential oil soaps are clean, paraben-free, amazing for your skin and 100% organic.
I asked Nicole how and when she first became interested in making and selling soaps and T-shirts. She said the idea for the shirts came simply from not seeing anything positive on people. She pointed out the fact that we talk about these messages with our boys but noticed how it feels like adults stop hearing positive messages in adulthood, so she wanted to see that change.
With regard to the soaps, she said she’s made them for her family for quite some time and they love them so she wanted to share them with everyone.
She knew Etsy was where she wanted to be because the community has an artistic and supportive feel. So true…
She first discovered Etsy as a shopper and had purchased from many of the wonderful merchants on Etsy for years. So when she decided to create Greater Than Tees, it was only natural that she would open an Etsy shop and join the fun!
I always like to ask creators and makers what their creative inspiration is… In her case, Nicole said she’s inspired by positive and uplifting messages.
She said that because of the fact that we’re surrounded by terrible things all the time, by simply choosing positive over negative, each of us can make a small difference within ourselves and those we see each day while wearing the T-shirts she makes.
Nicole’s desire is to see the Greater Than (>) inspiration become the trend…
If you catch her vision and want to connect with her go over to Greater Than Tees and take a look around then send her a convo or you can connect with her Twitter and Facebook.
