It’s an inhumane hour to be up and working right now but I’m toiling away at creating a brand new series to usher in the launch of my new premium podcast service – Etsy Success Strategies ~ The Audio Series.
I have a deadline to meet and I don’t want to disappoint anyone… Well really, myself, because I know no one else knows what my deadline is, but still…
Anyway, like the avid podcast listener I am, I was listening to one while working and someone on it said something that I just realized really gets under my skin each time I hear it… It’s the term “Crushing It”.
I can’t say I know for sure where it originated, but I can guess where based on being around the small business/entrepreneur community for the past few years.
It’s not that I think there’s anything inherently wrong with the term, but I think it’s just one of those (now) catchphrases that has been so overused that it almost means nothing. But worse than not meaning anything, it’s been used to mean way to much and I don’t know which is worse.
I feel like a snob because I actually turned off the podcast because the phrase was like chalk scratching on a board to my ears… Even I was surprised at my guttural and subsequent physical reaction to hearing it.
Why I feel the need to share this pet peeve at this hour of the morning, I don’t really know, but I wonder if you also have some phrase or saying that is just like a clanging noise to your ears also… One that you just can’t stand hearing.
If you do, I’d love to know what it is. It would also make me not feel so bad that I am so bothered by the one I have mentioned.

I’m not a marketing guru. I’m not even a marketing novice really, but I know that I want to get the word out about this new service I’m launching.
So since I have no marketing department and I found that trying to learn the latest and most effective marketing tactics… I mean, “techniques”, was eating into the time I should have been spending creating more content for my members’ library, I had to come up with something that works for me…
I’m giving everyone who listens to, or will stumble upon, the podcast a sneak peek of what will be behind the pay wall of the premium membership community. Well, as far as content goes…
There’ll be a members-only forum and vendor directory with exclusive discounts for members (but that will be for paying members only… And I will get more into that in another post).
Starting in the next few weeks, and spanning the course of a number of weeks, I’ll be releasing a series that will be very much like what you can expect to get on the inside.
So, in addition getting a 7-day free trial period, you can actually experience the content even without having to sign up for the free trial.
But just the content… Not any of the other benefits of paid membership.
And quite frankly, I think the content and the community are the most important things.
So please be on the lookout for that series coming soon and I’d really appreciate it if you could help me spread the word about this new premium podcast offering in any relevant Facebook groups and Etsy teams you belong to, as well as on social media, your blogs and wherever else you think those who would be interested in it will be.
