Karen is a graphic designer and the owner and creative artist behind the designs you’ll see in this Etsy shop. She says she discovered Etsy in May of 2010 and was inspired to open her shop because she wanted a venue online to sell her custom shoes.

In Intellexual Design you’ll find a wide array of custom hand-painted Converse, Toms & Vans shoes. Why wear your pair like everyone else when you can get them customized by Karen?

The cool thing about shopping here is that you’ll get to see pictures of your shoes in progress as she paints them… Watch them go from plain to wow!

What inspires your designs?

Karen says:

“I am inspired by color, pop culture and the human propensity towards individuality and setting oneself apart from the crowd… I have always been a lover of shoes and with over 100 pair (even after getting rid of pairs)”

“I found it hard to find shoes that no one else had… Thus hand painting custom shoes became my passion. Custom shoes not only ignite awe in others, but they spark conversation!”
