Etsy Shop ShoutOut – Elle and Belle Jewelry

You may have read my write-up last year about Elle and Belle Jewelry but if you missed it I’m giving this Etsy shop a shoutout this time around.

Liz is the owner, designer, maker, and shipper behind Elle & Belle Jewelry where she hand-makes and sells necklaces and bracelets. Her daughter actually introduced her to Etsy because she had a shop which was opened as a tribute to both her mother and grandmother (who loved collecting jewelry, by the way).

Before moving to New York, she taught Liz how to make her heart necklaces and also started Hearts for Sick Kids, from which she donated $5 from the sale of each of her best-selling necklaces to the Sick Kids Foundation at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. Liz has continued to make and sell the necklaces in her Etsy shop ever since.

It’s always nice to know what inspires each crafter when they are creating…  Liz says she selects materials she is attracted to and finds her inspiration in what they lend themselves to, what forms they naturally take, or what they can be easily fashioned into. She also gets her inspiration from fashion and what women in the 20-40 year age range are wearing and doing.

Like most creatives, Liz has experimented with a lot of mediums and continues to refine her own processes and techniques as time goes by.

Currently she’s focusing on twisted cotton/rayon, boating rope, and various cords including Mokuba cords for the most part.

Watch out for her new 2015 spring line – Knotty and Nice Collection – which will include marine rope and Mokuba cord bracelets and necklaces.
