Today’s writing challenge is “A Room With A View” and I’m supposed to write about a place I would go to right now if I had the chance.
Initially I tried to think of physical locations that appealed to me and that I have always wanted to visit but being the indecisive person I am I couldn’t settle on just one for fear that in my mind the other places would feel bad for not being picked, and God forbid I be the source of rejection.
But then I thought… “why must it be a physical location…?”
I know exactly where I would go to right now if I had the chance. I would want to get to “done”. Yes, done!
I have so much on my plate right now, I am juggling a number of different responsibilities with varying levels of priority but all with a common end point – they need to get done. So that’s where I would want to be right now if I had the chance.
How wonderful would it be to be finished with everything and have a nice blank slate and a fresh start?
Instead of taking the usual

tourist photographs that I would if I went to a physical location, I would instead capture the essence of accomplishment.
I would revel in what it feels like to have made everything happen, seen them all through to completion and be available again to pursue more.
One thing I miss when starting a new project is that the full excitement gets tempered because at the back of my mind all the other unfinished ones are still lying in wait. The joy of starting a new project afresh is often muted by the weight of all the other pending ones and the slight essence of disappointment at my glasses standing at half mast.
Yep… if I could be anywhere right now, “done” is exactly where I would pick.
